Traction Wagon

Production Years:- circa 1880 to 1930s

Colour:- Mainly black or maroon.

Price New:- in 1888 £55 (4 tons) & £65 (6 tons)

In 1880 a 6 tons traction wagon was awarded a gold medal at the Royal Show.

Manufactured in 4,6,8 or 10 tons to carry coal, minerals or agricultural produce, pulled by a Traction Engine.

The sides were hinged to let down; the ends could also be removed for carrying long timber or stones etc. Side or end tipping trailer wagons were also produced, for the County Councils to haul road materials, ensuring the load could be easily tipped at the roadside. fff
